21C is a consultant and interim investment management services company focused on advising, designing and implementing sustainable and responsible investment strategies that can help lead to a sustainable world in the 21st century.
The primary target groups of 21C are those asset managers, banks, pension funds and insurers who realizes that future (system) risks and opportunities will be most likely be related to themes, such as: climate change, water scarcity, demographic trends, transformation towards a sustainably energy society, tension caused by poverty, consequences of lost of biodiversity, disappearing forest and vegetation, etc..
21C sees as the ultimate challenge in portfolio allocation and risk management how to create a portfolio that incorporates long-term sustainability themes across all asset categories, sectors and countries.
Tee up for Plan B: Conference 12 May 2010
In 2008 21C organized a first conference related to the book of Lester Brown Plan B 3.0 “Mobilizing to save civilization”. Lester Brown has updated his Plan to 4.0. On 11 and 12 May 2010 21C organize a next conference in The Netherlands together with Lester Brown and Herman Wijffels as part of the program “Breaking the Investment Barriers for Plan B”.

Demographics
Besides sustainable issues 21C sees as the most important and often neglected theme “Demographics”. 21C offers together with Sander Boelens (author of the book “The poverty of retirement funding”, in Dutch: “De armoede van het rijkrekenen”) custom made workshops for investors who want to know more about the impact of demographics on their investments and the interactions with sustainable issues.
